Clinical Informatics - Policy Innovation Research Unit

LSHTM Policy Research Unit – in Policy Innovation Research

Based at the the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Department of Health Services Research & Policy, the Policy Research Unit in Policy Innovation Research (PIRU) is bringing together leading healthcare expertise to improve evidence-based policy-making and its implementation across the NHS, social care and public health. They aim to do this by exploiting routine data.

This collaboration between the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Imperial College London plus RAND Europe and the Nuffield Trust will assess the landscape of clinical datasets and their accessibility to UK researchers as well as enabling better exploitation of routine and existing datasets.

There will be significant possibilities for research in the outcome of their work to improve and extend data linkage between high quality clinical data sets.
