Standards-based Healthcare IT

"I am sure some e-Health readers are tiring of my constant request for standards based Healthcare IT. What needs to be done by someone (if not CfH)

1. Create a register of all software suppliers which market healthcare IT solutions to the NHS AND PRIVATE healthcare providers

2. Test their products against emerging healthcare standards

NHS CUI guidelines

NHS dm d medicines dictionary

SNOMED CT

openEHR clinical data entry templates

XML data output

Web based software

etc etc

I'm not sure about HL7 which is far too complicated and is "ripe" for replacement by a more "clinically intuitive" messaging system.
